SOLAR PROJECTS
SLE has experience in both utility scale and Commercial and Industrial (Rooftop) projects. Here is a highlight of the experience we have acquired over time:
- Review of project funding application of dozens of C&I project of a renewable developer in Indonesia for a confidential client. Following a successful technical due diligence, the investment target as applying to the investor for funds to execute several roof top C&I projects in Indonesia. The review is to ensure that stated project returns are achievable, that there is consistency in the documentation and the financial model. SLE is also proposed optimization measures to increase project performance, reviewed the robustness of the application against an agreed set of criteria and perform a technico-economic review of the projects, ensures that energy sell contract (PPA or others) are in line with the financial model as well as the construction contract. Once the application is reviewed an investment advice is provided.
- Technical advisor for the capability development of a renewable developer in Vietnam for a confidential client. SLE performed a technical due diligence on solar projects (C&I and utility scale) developer, assessing technical capability, reviewing internal procedures, site selections and reviewing the technical risks of a range of completed, under construction or pipeline projects, for a potential investor, in order to recommend risk reduction measures, to the investor and the target.
- 450 MWp Ninh Thuan Solar Projects, Vietnam, SLE was Lead development engineer for the BIM Renewable Energy JSC and AC Energy projects. SLE prepared project schedule, reviewed site suitability, risks assessment, planning and tender development for the grid interconnection of several solar projects. Technical Support for the solar EPC tender. Tender assessment and evaluation, recommendation for contract awards. Concept design for the grid connection to the 500kV system of EVN, prepared HC EPC contract documentation, negotiated EPC contract up to the award of the contract. Initialed start of construction. The project was executed in less than 12 months to meet the first round of feed-in tariff of Vietnam.
- Enhancing Readiness for Solar Power Deployment in Vietnam, SLE was the technical advisor of the Asia Development Bank (ADB). SLE supported the ADB with policy and review with various government agencies: Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and its subsidiary Central Power Corporation (EVN-CPC). Technical due diligence of a 50MW solar project located in central Vietnam. Policy advisory on how to enhance solar energy deployment in Vietnam, Draft PP review and comment on government submission. Support for the private sector take up.
- 15MW Solar+Battery+Hydrogen Project, SLE supported the project development for a confidential client, Australia based project. Provided technical support, reviewed feasibility studies, developed optimization procedure, review CAPEX and project delivery, prepare for project execution.
- 132.5MWp Pollo Solar Project, the Philippines, as the “E” of the EPC contractor, SL Engineers team members were in charge of the design of the balance of plant (civil works, structures, geotechnical, buildings). We were also involved in the permitting (construction permits) and supervised the grid connection of the largest solar farm in operation in South East Asia.
- 59 MWp SaCaSun Solar Project, the Philippines, SL Engineers team members were in charge of the detailed design of plant and grid connection as the “E” of the EPC contractor.
- 22 MWp Clark Solar Project, the Philippines, SL Engineers team lead the technical due Diligence for the investors and then the Owner’s Engineer team during construction of the project.
- 45MWp Sacasol, the Philippines: SL Engineers team members lead the technical Due Diligence for prospective investor of the 22MWp operating and 23MWp then under construction assets.
