TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION PROJECTS
All power projects require the export of power via a substation and transmission line. The team at SL Engineers has experience with both 50 and 60Hz, and voltage from 240V to 500kV.
In the South East Asia region, the team has been involved with project dealing with NGCP in the Philippines, PLN in Indonesia, TNB in Malaysia and other utilities across the region. The team has also experience with most if not all the Australian utilities.
Here is a highlight of some of our recent experience:
- 300MWp Solar project in the Philippines, SLE provided the detailed design of 2 substations detailed design. Detailed design and procurement support for 2x275kV substations: 1 new solar project substation and the extension of an existing substation of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines. A project delivery strategy was also proposed to the private Client.
- 240MW Sorik Marapi Geothermal Project, North Sumatra, Indonesia, the SL Engineers team members developed the concept design based on the PLN Sumatra grid code, with a main substation at 500kV with 3 large transformers, with around 25km of 70kV transmission line using the concept of a collector (similar to a wind farm) to allow the use of well head units on production pads.
- 132kV Cable Replacement Project, Sydney, NSW, Australia. The SL Engineers team members were leading the Engineering activities of the cable alliance, with a target to replace and lay 150km of usually 1200mm2 XLPE132kV cables digging Sydney roads. The team managed 13 different projects, from early development, turn-out cost proposal, engineering and then support construction. The team also had to deal with the legacy oil filled cables, various community issues and finding heritage artefacts in trenches.
- 81MW Pagudpud Wind Farm, Luzon, the Philippines. The SL Engineers team members were essentials in managing the grid connection of the project in a race environment. Time was of essence and the owner decided to take over the Engineering Procurement and Construction of the 60km 150kV double circuit transmission line and the 2x50MW transformer substation. The team was involved in all aspect of the project as the EPCM.
- 100MW Biliran Geothermal Project, Biliran Island, the Philippines. The SL Engineers team members lead the Engineering and procurement for the project. The team developed the concept design, routed and staked the line whilst dealing with the local land issues. The team also supported the permitting activities and grid connection studies with NGCP. The team also develop contract and run the procurements process to select an EPC contractor.
